How much do we charge (fixed fee)?
Our indicative fees for Licensing are as indicated below.
Licensing – Fees & Services
Fidanci Law Ltd provides specialist legal assistance in all areas of alcohol licensing and premises licensing. Our fees are transparent and structured in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Transparency Rules.
Licensing applications vary significantly depending on the premises, number of licensable activities, representations from responsible authorities, and local authority requirements. Once we understand your exact needs, we will provide a written, tailored quote.
Fixed Fees (Standard Licensing Applications)
All fees shown are exclusive of VAT and third-party costs.
- New Premises Licence Application – £2,000 + VAT
- Variation of a Premises Licence – £2,000 + VAT
- Minor Variation of a Premises Licence – £1,200 + VAT
- Transfer of a Premises Licence & Specify New DPS – £1,200 + VAT
- Transfer of a Premises Licence Only – £600 + VAT
- Premises Licence Review – Advisory Work & Representation – £300 + VAT per hour
These fees cover the majority of standard applications. More complex or contested matters may require additional work or the involvement of Counsel (Barrister). A detailed quote will be provided once we understand the complexity and requirements of your case.
Third-Party Costs (Disbursements)
In addition to our legal fees, your application may involve disbursements payable to third parties. These vary depending on the licensing authority and nature of the application.
Typical disbursements may include:
- Local authority application fees
- Site plans / floor plans
- Newspaper advertisement notices
- Licensing authority notice fees
- Replacement licence fees
- Barrister/Counsel fees (for contested hearings)
- External professional reports (noise assessments, planning documents, etc.)
We do not list fixed disbursement figures here as they depend on the premises, local authority, and application type. All disbursements will be clearly confirmed in writing once we have assessed your matter.
What Our Licensing Fee Covers
Depending on your application, our legal work may include:
- Advising on the most appropriate type of licence
- Advising on licensable activities, operating schedules and conditions
- Preparing and submitting the licensing application
- Drafting supporting documents and statements
- Advising on representations (objections) made by responsible authorities or local residents
- Negotiating conditions with the local authority
- Liaising with stakeholders, including police, environmental health and trading standards
- Preparing notices and ensuring statutory publication requirements are met
- Advising you on next steps following the licensing decision
Where a hearing is required before a Licensing Committee, additional fees may apply depending on representation required.
Services Not Included in the Fixed Fee
Unless agreed separately, the following services are not included in the fixed fee:
- Third-party disbursements (advertising, plans, local authority fees, etc.)
- Representation at Licensing Sub-Committee hearings
- Appeals to the Magistrates’ Court
- Planning law advice (change of use, certificates, enforcement)
- Noise or environmental assessments by external specialists
- Complex negotiations requiring additional time
- Work arising from changes in your circumstances or the local authority process
If additional work becomes necessary, we will inform you and provide a revised quote before proceeding.
Timescales
Typical licensing applications require:
- Preparation and submission: Approximately 1–3 weeks depending on documentation provided
- Statutory consultation: Usually 28 days
- Decision period: Varies by local authority
Contested applications or matters requiring a hearing may take longer. We will keep you informed of expected timelines throughout your case.
